Question about sickness and getting enough calories.

Hey guys, just looking for some advice for my calories, today. I did a lot of exercise earlier, and was feeling fine. Then, I ate and now I feel very sick. I'm going to try to eat more food later if I can, but I think I might have a stomach bug. I haven't eaten anywhere near enough calories for the day, and I know I should eat more than the minimum due to my exercise. Apart from trying to eat more, which I will do, what would you do? Would you aim to eat back those calories the next day?

If I'm sick I don't force food. Just make sure you are hydrated with lots of fluids. Especially if it's temporary eating less will be fine. Feel better and rest.

Thanks  my partner is also feeling sick after eating the same meal, we think the sauce might've been bad. I really don't feel like I can force very much, at all. I was mostly worried because I burned so many calories in exercise before this happened. I'm definitely loading up on water.

No need to force food if you aren't hungry. That applies when you're sick or well.

Feel better soon. Don't worry about it. I'm sure most of us have gotten sick and not been able to eat all of our allotment of calories for a day.

I think it was early April I went through a nasty spell. I ate when I could but was still only averaging about 600 calories a day. It lasted for 6 days. At the end I was pretty weak so the first 2 days I was able I ate my normal calories plus about 1000. I wasn't trying to make up for the huge deficit of the week because that ship had sailed I was just trying to feel better.

Stay hydrated and as much as you can eat the BRAT diet... bananas, rice, applesauce, and toast.

As others have said no need to worry. We are pretty resilient even though you may not feel that way until this passes.
