What do you do when you cant log food?

Today is a busy day and unfortunately I did a mistake of not preparing food for it. So I had to stop by in some fast food restaurant. (nothing unhealthy like burgers or stuff) I had some salad and chicken but there's no information on the food how many calories and how big the serving size is. I made a rough estimation but it's definietly off by a little. Do you not log on days like this or try to make calculate it roughly?

guesstimate using another fast food restaurants details, then add 100 cals for oil on anything cooked.2

I usually google the food and find the nutritional value and create my own food1

Any guess is better than rationalizing not logging. That's a slippery slope.6

I wouldn't label a hamburger as unhealthy either or even the highest calorie thing on a menu. I have seen menus with over 900 calorie salads without the dressing.
The funny thing about logging a guess is that it is an important lesson in managing your diet and that is that life is occasionally messy and you have to roll with it. While accuracy is very important it is not good to be wound too tight when it comes to food. There are people out there that would skip a meal if they could not count the calories accurately and that is not a healthy attitude.5
