If anyone is thinking of attempting to beat Joey Chestnut's world record of eating 74 hot dogs and buns in ten minutes, someone has very helpfully listed the nutritional information.

Wow but I'm pretty sure he, um, gets rid of most of those calories

Such "athletic" endeavors are worthy of being shown on ESPN somehow
A grizzly bear could probably beat the record

That sodium level looks a bit off though!

Also, his face looks like my face would be feeling after that.....

How does the body handle that much sodium in a 10 min span?

Probably because they "get rid of it" not long after eating.

Actually they stick around after the competitions for interviews and such. They don’t purge or advocate for it

I thought one of the rules was that it had to stay down or they were disqualified

Included. Generally, the hot dog alone is 150 calories and the bun alone is 150 calories.

How long are they monitored afterwards? Unless they are watched for a long time there is plenty of time to purge a portion of the calories.

I suspect that digestion is not efficient for that kind of volume. IOW, if his poop were checked (I certainly would hate to draw that short straw), it probably still has a lot of calories and sodium.

I can only imagine the bricks of ****, clogged toilets, "meat sweats", "food baby", & possibly torn sphincter as the aftermath..."athletic" injuries are inevitable in this type of "sport"

Joey Chestnut may have been raised by wolves with that expandable stomach. They hunt in packs & must eat as much as possible for survival reasons (rival wolves in pack) hence the genetic trait selection for stomach with higher volume capacity/stretching

I don't about anyone else, but everytime they kept showing that one shot of him shoving that hot dog in his mouth it made me want to vomit. There is NO WAY I could even think about doing this. Does he just go an throw up afterwards or how does that even work?
