Hi Guys,
New to this keto diet as well. It’s my second attempt to start it and hope I can stick to it without any setbacks. Any tips or suggestion to not get tired of eating the same things ? Proteins and so forth.
Thank you in advance 😊

Search keto diet on the forums and you will find hundreds of posts to answer your questions.
This group will also offer you plenty of support. More so than the main forum.

A healthy diet is balanced and varied, you can eat what you like, but not too much. Maybe keto just isn't for you?6

I find that eating a varied diet without severe restriction of a whole macronutrient stops me getting bored of my food.13 -
As the first response suggests, hit the keto groups. They will have recipes and food ideas and lots of encouragement.
Personally I like eating similar foods, keeps me on track. But we are all different, just like some of don't like large quantities of carbs and can cut back on them and other people can't.
Google is a great resource for food ideas too.
The main thing is you go into it prepared. Also make sure you keep your salt levels up, to keep the electrolytes topped up.
Good luck, I hope you make a success of it.1 -
If it's your second time and you're afraid of being bored by the foods on it, maybe try something different than keto?11

OP, another good group on MFP which will help would be:
Low Carber Daily Forum....The LCD Group1 -
With the rate of diet failures it should ALWAYS be suggested that someone take the easiest and less restricted path unless they have medical conditions that require restriction.8

Hey OP,
You could try to just count your calorie intake. Track what you like to eat for a week or two and see if you can make small changes.
What is your height, weight, age, sex, and what is your goal weight?
Best kind of diet is the one you can do for the rest of your life.6 -

So, I've read the posts and the OP is asking for help with keto the second time around.
They didn't say that they haven't tried any other form of diet that hasn't worked or they got bored with.
I've tried the standard CICO calorie thing on and off for years, combined with exercise/logging and counting calories etc. etc. Never been able to stick with it and always regained within 2-3 months.
On my second go at LCHF/keto (5 years apart) I sought advice from helpful folk on MFP and have stuck with it for 8 months and 48 lbs. That's exactly what they are asking for not the 'you'll never stick with it it's too restrictive', i.e. give up now, type of help.
After all, I wouldn't suggest to someone trying the standard CICO for the second time around to just give up because they might not be able to succeed as it failed last time.

It appears you may misunderstand that the "standard CICO" applies to every kind of diet and every form of exercise. If a particular way of eating works for you, it's only because of CICO. There is no "standard CICO," because it's not a diet or a particular way of eating.7 -
Let me remind you of the OP:Hi Guys,

Let me also remind you that this is not the debate forum. Attempting to debate the OPs perfectly okay dietary choices in THIS thread will be considered trolling. OP has asked for guidance. Further valid reports will be met with anger, moderator discontent and quite potentially warnings. If Keto threads make you feel the need to debate, perhaps clicking on one in the General Health, Fitness and Diet forum isn't your safest course of action. Debating the dietary choices of other users in any forum but the Debate section could be considered trolling.
This is the second Keto thread I've had to wade into this morning. It's making me cranky. Get ahold of yourselves, folks.

There is no standard CICO based diet. Keto, calorie counting, intuitive eating, Weight Watchers, "Clean", WFPB, etc. all require a food deficit so they are all CICO.

Hi @JustSomeEm ,
I think many of us could use guidance on where the line is. It's easy for me in "sugar addiction" threads, but not so clear in keto threads. If someone is struggling with keto, isn't it acceptable to suggest that keto might not be for them?
I think debate starts when people suggest that CICO does not apply to keto, or make other incorrect statements about CICO, and other posters try to correct this. How do we correct misinformation without turning the thread into a debate?
I'm willing to limit my responses to links to the LCHF group for the OP and to keto threads in Debate for those who are confused about CICO, if there's no middle ground.
Thanks,

Hey @kshama - thanks for this. Don't limit your responses - I think helpful responses that challenge a user are important. "The line" can be crossed in a couple of different ways:
1. If someone is making suggestions, that's totally awesome. If OP is resistant, let it go.
2. If someone suggests something you think is silly (or otherwise take issue with) to the OP, and you debate that user rather than helping the OP, you're probably starting to derail the thread. These types of discussions totally happen - conversations wander sometimes, and that's totally normal and okay. However, if they go on for more than a few posts back and forth (i.e. you're taking over a thread some poor user started so they could get suggestions or help), you should start your own thread to discuss so that OP can get their requested help.
There certainly IS some middle ground - the issue that will cause me to give a warning is if the debate has taken over a thread, and the OP's request for assistance has been left in the dust.
Did that help?

Pinterest...
I'm sure they have a ton of different keto recipes. I'm not keto, but I get most of my ideas for different recipes on Pinterest because I get bored easily with the same stuff over and over.0 -
Hi OP,
I have been keto for 7 months now and LOVE it. I have so many tips on starting -- but mainly just don't give up. Keto has changed my life for the better. I no longer have to take mental health medicine (for anxiety), I've lost 30lb, I've never felt happier or healthier. It just takes some perseverance and self control in the beginning, but once you get started I swear you'll fall in love! My clothes all fit me again, I feel attractive and strong, and I really have never been happier (confidence brings me this happiness). Being in ketosis is a great feeling that comes with a variety of health benefits as your body finally realizes how to not rely on/be addicted to carbs for energy. Also, I don't feel limited at all in my food choices. Once your brain starts thinking "I don't want that" rather than "I can't have that," it becomes so EASY!
