Carb day

I started Keto a lil over a wk ago. I dropped 4lbs in 5 days. I felt great, had tons of energy and was mentally more focused than usual. I ordered Ketosis test strips n tested positive.

Welllllll, I allowed myself a carb day w carb dense foods n beer for the 4th of July. HUGE mistake. I woke up yesterday, vomited, stuck on the toilet the first 1/2 of the day, my body was puffy n tender. That was def the motivation I needed to stick w Keto. I’m just hoping it doesn’t take too long to get back into Ketosis!

    Can carbs have this effect? Sure it wasn't the alcohol?

    It very well could have been the alcohol, but I am a drinker. Before Keto I could easily throw back a 12pk of beer a night (don’t judge). I had only been doing Keto for 5 days prior to these results. Since Keto I cut out the beer n allow myself to unwind w sparkling water, vodka n Mio Water enhancer w electrolytes. But in the end, I’m sure it was the combination of the beer n carb overload.

    1g carbs takes approximately 4g water to digest - thus carbo-HYDRATES - so its not surprising that you feel bloated after a day of high carbs...although the alcohol probably didn't help either
