Hi all, just wanted to get your thoughts on supplements, foods etc. There a lot of conflicting info out there.

examine.com is the best site I've seen for looking up supplements and research on their efficacy.

I don't know if Examine would have information on Polyphenols. They are in food mostly (I know there are supplements out there but I'd stick to food sources) and most of the initial research I've seen (which is pouring out of studies on Microbiome Therapeutics) is that you have to have Polyphenols combined with higher fiber. Supplements wouldn't achieve that. It would be very hard to access the polyphenol supplements in isolation (or impossible).

Increasing polyphenol intake certainly won't hurt you is the long and short of it. Tart berries, cranberries, tea, apples, grape seeds, Resveratrol, astaxanthin among other powerful ones. So is star anise, cloves, cinnamon (like perhaps in Chai Tea or Chinese Five Spice). Not sure if supplementing is the best way to get them.

Here's a pretty solid list for ideas of what to eat.

I also don't think polyphenols are the "miracle" that some are claiming out there (like Gundry). Certainly good for you though.
