Hi all!
Anyone have Crohn's or Ulcerative Colitis? If so, what medication(s) are you on? How did the medication affect your weight? I have Crohn's and my doc and I am trying to decide which med route to go on... I'd love to be put on one that doesnt cause weight gain so if anyone has any suggestions let me know!

Yes, I have Crohn's. I had a total proctocolectomy with end ileostomy in May 2017. I'm currently on humira, entocort, Omeprazole and cannabis for it. I also have gastroparesis so I'm on lots more meds. I'm quite underweight. No meds, including Prednisone, ever made me gain weight (other than water weight and increased appetite).

I have UC and I take 4 lialda every night. No affect on weight at all. No idea if it's good for Chron's tho.

I have UC. I take Balsalazide Disodium (Colozol). Started with it when I was first diagnosed and have been on it for 8 years. It hasn't affected my weight.

I have UC, Just diagnosed in April. I take 4 Lialda every day and was on 40mg of prednisone a day, but am down to 5mg now! The prednisone had an effect on my weight I think. Every time I lowered my dosage I saw a large drop on the scale. Good luck! Friend Request sent!

I have UC. I was on prednisone several months last year and that definitely made me gain weight. Working on losing it. I'm on mercaptopurine and lialda now.

My husband has UC and for a guy who has never changed weight plus or minus 5lbs over 15 years gained 25lbs in 2 months on prednisone. Stopped taking it and lost the weight very quickly. He was on lialda but it wasnt working so now he is using humira. No side affects from either of those weightwise.
