Finding time to go to the gym

I really want to become more dedicated going to the gym. However, I find it hard to make time and finding the energy when I work a 9 to 5 than coming home and cooking dinner for my family.

I'm in the same boat. It's gotten even harder with it being summer. I've actually started using my lunch hour here and there to go to my gym (I don't know how far yours is away from work) and then just eating my lunch on breaks or at my desk. I don't feel I get a "good" workout in that short amount of time but I suppose anything is better than nothing right? I tend to do more strength training at lunch with a quick 10 minutes warm up on the treadmill and then save any cardio for the evening. Or I just grab my 9 year old and we take a bike ride so at least we are together and exercising. I've been learning to combine things as much as I can until I figure out how to add more hours to a day0

I always felt this way when I worked out after work.. and I found I would be stressed my entire workout because I would be thinking about everything I could and should be doing at home. I switched to going at 5 am and it is the best thing that has happened to my mental and physical health. I am not sure if this is an option for you but if it is I highly recommend it. The gym is usually much more quiet and I always am in a better mood throughout the days now.0

Why do you need to go to a gym? There are plenty of exercises you can do at home either before or after work. Check out "You Are Your Own Gym" (no gym equipment required). If you are looking to lose weight a calorie deficit is really all that is required. Exercise is for musculoskeletal and cardiac health, but isn't a requirement for weight loss.0

I'm in the same boat. I use my lunch hour to workout at the gym down the street and then just eat at my desk in the afternoon.0
