NSV. Did 10 pushups today, first time in my adult life

Congrats and that is a big accomplishment. I thought I was doing pushups until I started crossfit. I wasn't going deep enough, so back on knees and working on going deeper until I can do strict pushups.

I go as deep as my left shoulder allows. So far that is beyond a 90 degree bend in the arm. Almost nose to floor. Arms tucked to the ribs, not stuck out perpendicular (that will tear up the shoulder.)
Holding planks >60 seconds and lots of core work sure helped too.0
