I have been trying to lose weight as my husband and I are trying for a baby.
At the moment I weigh 82kg when i started in March I weighed in at 90kg.
I have since hit a plateau, however this is because I can no longer run. It is thoroughly demoralising. I used to run alot (half marathon and even had my own running club-couple of years back) but with plants facisits walking on my heel is issue let alone running. I am going to see foot specialist next week so hoping this will come to end soon.
Any motivation would be great on what I can do to get back on track. Exercise tips that don't involve gym membership and not running at the moment....

I have 3 wedding end of Aug/Sept to look forward to and want to feel good.

I can commiserate, because I’m in a similar place to you- wanting to have another baby (years of issues so currently waiting for fertility treatment), so working on weight loss. And plantar fasciitis has also been an issue for me!

I got some shoe inserts that help with my plantar. I’ve never been a runner (not fit enough lol) but I walk a lot, and walking is easier with my inserts. I used to cycle too (stationary bike), due to a torn ligament in my knee, and that didn’t cause any issues with my plantar.

I agree with the above advice though- a calorie deficit is all that is needed with weight loss. Exercise can help create a deficit, and has other benefits, but to lose weight, all that is needed is to eat less than you burn, exercise or no exercise. I’m strict with my logging, and even on the weeks where I don’t do much exercise, I still lose.

    Hugs.... I understand the struggle!!!

After years of doing more cardio than I could handle and not seeing the changes I wanted, I've recently discovered that the key to making changes in my body has been weight training. I agree that nutrition is the majority, but I would recommend trying some strength training along with it to help you feel better! Most of that should be little to no impact with your foot issues.
