Hi I am Tasha, I struggle with a food addiction and hope I can find friends to support me when I want to give into cravings. I am a mom of 3 and gained 50+ pounds from having three babies! I am ready for a change, but having some help would be nice I need fit friends!

Have you tried telling yourself you have control over your intake? By telling yourself you're an addict, you're behaving like one and giving in to your cravings.4

No one has a food addiction. There are some clinical diagnoses of “eating” addictions but even these are usually linked to behavioral addiction and certain triggers and not actual physiological dependency on certain foods or ingredients.
You sound like many people who come to MFP, frustrated with their weight and previous unsuccessful attempts to lose weight. There’s a lot of pseudoscience, woo, and misinformation prevalent in society today about what you must do, what’s to blame, what you shouldn’t do... if you want to be successful.
Start by reading the stickied most helpful forum posts at the top of the getting started section - they have a wealth of information in them.
Set up your profile with accurate stats, your goal weight, and a reasonable rate of loss (1 lb/week is about right if you have 50 to lose).
Get a food scale. Log everything you eat as accurately and honestly as possible.
Eat a balanced diet focusing on foods that provide nutrition, satiety and enjoyment.
Exercise if you enjoy it, logging and eating back some of those calories.
Be patient and enjoy the process. You’ll likely want to hurry, but remember the time is going to pass no matter what and in just about a years time you can reach your goal - just in time to hit the pool with your kiddos!
Good luck!8 -
Everybody does, and withdrawals a *kitten*!1

I don't have a food addiction, but I love food and find it pleasurable. There is a big difference between telling yourself that you're addicted (powerless) and knowing you just find food more very pleasurable (all you need is balance pleasure and goals).
I suggest you read the stickies. Dieting can feel more intimidating and stressful than it should be, but it doesn't have to be. There are ways to still enjoy food and lose weight with a few tricks and some discipline.3 -
If all the babies are out by now, I think you gained weight from eating too much, not from having babies? I don't think food addiction is a thing, but that what you're dealing with is bad habits, unrealistic expectations, maybe compulsive overeating, so I would investigate if thinking about it as addiction, is helping you solve your problems, or making it harder.0
