My husband is on a pretty strict keto diet and losing weight fast. Do I HAVE to do keto with him to lose weight? I need to lose about 70 lbs but I find keto pretty restrictive and not sure I can be that committed Wondering what all the fuss is about keto.

Some people prefer the food choices on keto, and some find that they feel less hungry.
It is not for everyone though. You can lose weight without it, just make sure you are hitting your calorie goal (a little over a little under). Have some patience though, it's a process.
For the record, I am not one of those that keto is for. I do just fine by watching my calories.4 -
Don't try to keep pace with your husband losing weight. They always win
Seriously, you don't have to do keto if it doesn't appeal to you. You lose weight by creating a calorie deficit. Keto helps some people with that. Personally, I've chosen not to do anything to lose weight that I know I can't or won't want to continue into maintenance.5 -
Keto is a very popular fad right now, but it's not necessary for weight loss. In fact, it's no more advantageous for weight loss than any other diet, unless it happens to fit your eating preferences and helps you stick to your calorie goal.
Plenty of people have successfully lost weight without ever once going anywhere near keto levels of carbs. You lose weight by consuming less calories than you expend, by whatever means works best for you. Anecdotally, I've lost over 70 pounds and average somewhere around 200 grams of carbs per day.3
