As long as you are fueling your cardio adequately, getting enough protein and it is not affecting your training you should not be losing very much muscle (in a deficit). If you are trying to maintain or gain you need to eat enough to keep up with your activity.

Are you lifting weights at all or only running?

I LOVE running this time of year, but I don't want to lose the muscle I've worked to gain, so I am alternating running days with lifting and every day I eat more than enough protein. Hoping for good results despite increased cardio!

Weights today was gonna go for run tomorrow then weights on sat. I’ve been tracking protein and had more than I have been getting. Upped my cals a bit too

How much protein are you getting and what sources?

Animal and plant, I don’t eat as much animal protein as I used to. Feel more well for it

I would doubt that you would lose any muscle if you keep the majority of your focus on lifting.
The problem would be that it might impinge on your gaining, if you end up doing a lot of it and burning much extra calories.
If you are worried about it, however, I'd suggest keeping the distances shorter and doing tempo runs and sprints.
Added benefit: Sprints are reported to cause your body to crank out the HGH -- much more than even a session of weight lifting does.
