Fitness tracker for newbie

Just starting to jog, and I use map my walk but it only keeps up with mile pace. Is there a fitness tracker that will tel me 1/4 mile pace. I usually jog 1st mile but after that it’s a jog/walk combo. Also would like HR. Any recs?

    If you're starting to get into running then I'd veer towards a Garmin. The entry level devices like the Forerunner 35 are perfectly adequate but subject to your budget you might opt for a midrange device like the 235 or 735XT.

    The main players in the Market are Garmin, Polar and Suunto, but Garmin had great market penetration.

    Fitbit are overpriced toys.
