Today at the gym, I used bad bad form in an exercise I know well. Back spasms. I tried to work through it. Thank goodness my trainer stopped me immediately. He said "go home, rest, ice, ibuprofen. It will be worse tonight". Any tips? Should I walk, stay put, what

I would do what your trainer said. Rest. Put ice on it, 20 minutes at a time. Take ibuprofen to help ease the pain and reduce the swelling. Try stretching VERY gently, since your back will stiffen up in an attempt to protect itself. If you are not seeing improvement in a few days, go see your doctor.

That's what I would do, anyway. I hope you fel better soon.

Thanks. I will see a Dr if it's not better soon. I am following trainer's advice too. I just started wondering what rest means I was stiffening up so I am getting up now and then to move slooowly through some stretches I could kick myself, but it would hurt my back more. My trainer tried to stop me. He wasn't even working with me at the time.
