With limited ability to move about, calorie restriction is likely your best bet, with about 15% higher protien consumption than the RDI for recovery and wound healing.
I currently have a back injury that affects my ability to bear weight, and strength in one leg, so my physical therapist has shown me isometric excersizes. Basically being able to contract and release your muscles without actually entering range of motion.
Example, squeeze your leg muscles tight for 10 secs and then release, can be done sitting or laying down. When I do this with my core, I'm in a full sweat within 5 minutes. I hope your ankle heals quickly, don't forget to elevate when your not walking 😉👍🏼0
