Hey!
I've been going to the gym 3 x a week while my son's been in school but with the holidays looming I'll be looking at 2 days a week so my question is can I do two classes at the gym on the one day to make up for the missing work out just during those 6 weeks or doesn't it work like that? I'm in a good head space at the moment and don't want to drop a session if I don't have to.

Is it safe/sensible?

Thanks in advance ❤

I would worry that doing two sessions might be too much on one day. Sometimes it can reduce performance in the second one or increase the risk of injury. I know at one stage in my early 20s I was doing to training sessions on one day, but if I remember they may have had a different focus. Also I had no one else to worry about except being there to help some guys training for fights etc. Having kids, and other family commitments can change things.

How old is your son? I work full time at night, but if I was home full time, I would include my girls. They are 11 and 9, and enjoy going to the park or even just a walk. We don't have a yard so to go out they need an adult. As it is my husband hates walking in the city for exercise, but he walks them to school everyday (baring illness) , so that is his cardio. Perhaps if you go on the two days you can go, then make sure you put in an active play day or even a few days with your son.

I understand it's also about forming good habits, which is why I am about to go down to my garage at 9:30 pm to get a prework weight session in. It's also about long term health and fitness. Remember it's what we eat that effects our weight more than activity. Exercise is the icing on the cake, and what will keep us enjoying life as we go forward.

You're absolutely right! I'm being a berk :D sometimes I need reminding there are other ways to work out. I'll look into home workouts - maybe yoga or pilates. My son is 6 but I can get him out for a walk to the woods or something :)
