Stupid numbers

A few weeks ago I started swimming again after many years of not doing it. It is the only form of exercise I really enjoy and it has been amazing to get back to it. I’ve been feeling great having finally gotten back into a good routine of moving my body, looking forward to doing it, and feeling better physically overall. My clothes have been fitting better and I just feel... good! I could stand to lose some weight, but am more interested in enjoying myself and increasing strength, stamina, flexibility, and overall health than “being thin”. I (re)joined here just so I could log my swimming habits... in the past I found the detailed food logging became an unhealthy obsession.

Anyway today at the gym I stepped on the scale and had a major disappointment when I saw how heavy my body has become. All those good feelings deflated.

It doesn’t help that I have PMS and am bloated/carrying more water weight. And it’s just a stupid number, after all. But, ugh. Stupid number.

Just needed to share my struggle. Thanks for reading.

Congrats on getting into a routine. I love swimming! You know the cause of the number and you know it will happen every month. Don't sweat it, just keep swimming !

Just focus on your program, consistency is the most important thing to get shaped.
