Applesauce- in the UK

I see ‘applesauce’ called for in a lot for US recipes.

Is this the same apple sauce that we use on our roast pork!? Or is in something entirely different 🙈

    It's the same thing, it is just a way to sweeten recipes.

    Applesauce is just apples. If you make it fresh some people add sugar. Usually when I make it I use sweeter apples, I add cinnamon, maybe a little nutmeg. It is simple, crushed apples cooked down.

    It can vary a bit, but it's just crushed cooked down apples with sugar and maybe some nutmeg or cinnamon. Home made tends to be chunky and store bought tends to be more of a puree.
