I know so many can relate to this situation.
It's tough going from eating whatever/whenever to sticking to 1400 cals (clean low carb keto) and eating only between 8-4:30
The scale has been moving so slowly, but at least it was moving in the right direction... I tried not weighing myself too much, but was hoping for a loss to increase my motivation to stick with the plan
BUT to see a pound up after not weighing myself for a week and a half was so disheartening .....

Im sticking to 1400 cals/not hungry
I haven't worked out as I've been taking care of a very sick family member/lots of time in the hospital etc
BUT def getting in my steps/walking

well just a little vent

Your plan must be (at least part of) your motivation to stick to your plan.

If you're so not hungry that you find it worth mentioning, chances are you're eating more than you think. Check your logging for inaccuracies.

Your weight fluctuates daily, more than a week's worth of fat loss. You need several weeks of calorie deficit to see a discernible trend.

    Now be patient.

And take care of yourself too.

Thanks...thought maybe i was eating more cals than I thought as part of the issue
but its still a hell of a lot less than I was eating before!!
I hate to have to be so meticulous but I wanted to be accurate so I even measured out a 1/4 nuts
I love nuts and they easy to bring w me..running to/from hospital..also relied on protein bars..cals are on the package
so I think I did pretty good with tracking accurate cal

but slow and steady..Im def not going to give in/give up :)

    Thanks advice

@kimber0607 I feel you. I started my journey of weight loss thru transitioning to a healthy lifestyle in May. I had wanted to start the process for sometime. However, I suffer from clinical depression & had unexpectedly lost my Mom in January of 2017. Finally, in May of 2018 I decided I was going to overhaul my life. I bought an Apple Watch, started daily log ins to My Fittness Pal & logging my food & activity. In addition I bought a Bluetooth Scale to help track my journey. In the past I never looked at the numbers because I just cared about how my clothes fit & how I felt. However, that approach had allowed me to get to the heaviest weight I have ever been in my 47years. Basically because for a year the depression was so bad I didn’t care about anything, especially myself. I decided I would only weight myself three days a week. Mon.-Wed.-Friday. I am down around 14lbs. While feeling the loss view what I’m physically able to do, the number is great conformation that changes are being made & I’m seeing the fruits of my labor. However, I will tell you that I have gotten discouraged a few times when I’m a Friday the scale shows a weight loss of 4lbs for the week. Only on Monday to show I gained the 4lbs back. Knowing I stuck to my plan all weekend. I’ve come to learn that weight loss for older(as in no longer in my 20’s)woman is a whole different beast. Some days I find I’m just retaining more water weight, etc. AdditionallyI can tell I’m losing inches, which the scale number will not reflect. I’m finally trying to be more realistic with this journey/process. I know I didn’t put all this weight on in one month so I have to remember that I will not take it off in a month or two. Again why this is a lifestyle change & not a “DIET!” #StayStrong

Thanks so much..appreciate your response..so sorry about your mom :(

I didn't want to be a slave to the scale, but by avoiding the scale and not confronting my weight gain is also how i gained back all the weight I lost a few years ago
So, I (no matter what) pledged to jump on the scale but only every 1.5-2 weeks ..hoping if i did have fluctuation during that time I would still hope to see/net some positive movement.

BUT knowing the scale doesnt always represent the entire picture i pulled a pair of denim shorts that were my go to last summer that at the beginning of this summer I could barely button and wouldnt wear in public
after sheding 13 pounds I can not only wear them but that are starting to fall down (what a terrible problem..LOL)
I also only have about 8 pounds to go, so as I get closer to my goal weight i know it will take more time

    thanks for the encouragement
hang in there and keep doing a great job!
