Maybe. Set your goal to lose 1 lb per week and you'll at least get close. Good luck!11

Maybe yes, maybe no...the thing with these kinds of questions is that there are lots of unknowns along the way. The bottom line though is that if you start now, if you're not yet at your target, you're going to be a hell of a lot closer than if you do nothing.26

You can get close. Don't beat yourself up if you don't get all the way there. Remember, those kids just want photos of Mom, no matter what you look like.6

Probably - but nothing us guaranteed - one thing for certain; if you don't start you will never get there I so agree with @emalethemoon - your children want to have fun with you and have photos to remember that by. I wasted my first trip to Disney when my children were small as I felt so self conscious; while they were all having fun I was just feeling awkward. My kids loved me the way I was and just wanted fun with their Mum and I so regret not being able to relax with them. So while I would certainly start with the weightloss, and aim to get a good way towards your target in a sustainable way that will support maintenance when you get there - please do not wait to start living and having fun with your kids. Incidentally, by my second visit I was happy to wear my swimsuit with my shorts/skirt so that the water rides were really fun - sadly over the next 10 years I put a chunk back on but am now back down where I was when I had that fun trip. Good Luck - plug your stats in to mfp, be realistic with your goals (0.5 - 1 lb per week) and off you go. (If you're not very fit you may want to think about that now - Disney involves LOTS of walking6

Thanks guys! I know my kids don’t care about what I look like I just want to feel good about our vacation photos it will be our first family vacation staying at a hotel lol I’ve lost 45lbs total so far but started in 2013 then had a pregnancy in 2014 so I know it can be done just need it to happen a little bit faster I plan on starting to walk more and stick to logging even if I have to be a little bit selfish by telling my husband sorry can’t eat that or there I really want to be close to my goal weight next May2

You have given yourself enough time to make your goal achievable, or close to achievable. If it were me though I wouldn't concentrate so much on the number on the scale but my fitness. I'd want to make sure I had the energy and fitness to keep up with my children and get the most out of my time away with my family. The children would benefit more from that than a mom looking better in photos.2

Absolutely - that is 42 weeks away. you can do it!

I can understand your sentiments....... I hate to look at our son's wedding photo's - seeing how heavy I was in vivid color still hurts.
However, even knowing my son's wedding was coming I couldn't motivate myself to lose weight, hence those pics.
I finally decided to do it for myself, not an upcoming event, not for my kids, not for my husband.
And I knew I had to do it in a way that was a permanent change in my lifestyle..... no deadlines to make by.
Cause before you know it, deadlines are ruling your life.
I don't know if it was fate, karma, whatever you want to call it...... but in the 15 months since I did make my lifestyle change I've become a Grandma and our other son got engaged (Nov wedding in Mexico).
And I've lost 113 lbs................ and yes......... I'm looking forward to the wedding photo's this time around.
