Hi all,

Regarding macros, my protein % is 20% but today went over to 30% and carbs was 15% lower than he target.

I’m below my calories limit. Can any one please help explain what happens if you go over the one, and too little of the other ?

If you consistently go over your calorie target, you won't lose weight, you might gain weight.
If you consistently fail to hit your protein target, you might struggle to not go over your calorie target.

Yeah I get the calories.. but like today, I’m 200 under calorie target (trying to lose weight anyway) but still, I’m over my protein target and under my carbs which is the question

Macros are personal preference, and there are minimums required for health and fitness, It's no big deal if you are over or under on occasion.

Nothing. Calories are what matter for weight loss. Many people view protein and fat as minimum goals to reach, so going over in 1-2 macros is fine.

If your macros are still set to the MFP default, you'll probably want to tweak them. And generally, protein and fat are viewed as a minimum, with carbs falling where they may (excepting macro-specific diets like keto).

Edit, I see they typed faster than me

They are yeah. Ah ok.. I’ll look into what they should be in. Currently 10lb down from my start. Weighing 15.8 stone now and 15ft 10

This app has been a god send to helping me with foods and measurements

Hence "consistently". Changes in weight happen over time. You won't be able to consistently eat too little very long, you will feel a need to eat more, and then you eat more.

There really is no 'should' in macro splits. Whatever works best for you. For example, I find fat highly satiating, and since I'm not a volume eater I'm ok with setting my fat macro % a little higher than most.
