Scale isn't really moving, but....

The stupid scale is still bouncing around between 204-206 for almost two weeks now. My weight loss is far from linear and that kind of hovering has happened previously, but this is longer than usual. A little frustrating, as I really should be right at 200 now with my deficit. Granted I've increased my exercise routine a bit, so I'm probably retaining some water for muscle repair and I think I may need to increase fiber a tiny bit for digestive help, so that likely explains the scale not dropping like I expect.

BUT - I am seeing other signs that I am actually still losing fat. My wedding rings aren't "stuck" anymore and it isn't a struggle to get them off. My exercise leggings feel looser. My waist is down 2 inches and my hips are down almost 3 (in the last 30 days). And my favorite? I have a little hangover pooch right above my c-section scar. I'm sure a lot of women know which one I mean. It's shrinking! I can feel that it's smaller and lighter than a month ago. (Probably explains the larger loss in hip inches, as it's right in that area.)

I still weigh daily, because I'm interested in tracking the fluctuating trends on several levels, but those Non-Scale Victories are pretty awesome too!

Two weeks is nothing, I was stuck for two months. Read about the Whoosh. Your fat cells retain water as they stand by tenaciously for new fat. At some point they give up and you have a sudden weight loss. Since water is more dense than fat it explains shrinkage in your size while your weight is static.

So true. I was stuck for two weeks and getting really frustrated, but then this morning (3 days after starting my period) 4 pounds disappeared overnight! The Whoosh will feel great when it comes...hang in there!

I was "stuck" for over two months also.... till I realized I'd been slacking a little and tightened up my logging.

But although I'd only lost 1 lb in that time I went down a whole pant size.

Surprised the heck out of me! :)

Yeah, this is why I'm not worrying too much. Plus the whole increase to my workout. I went from 2 days a week to 3 of strength training, so I'm sure my muscles are hanging onto water a lot trying to repair.

What's funny to me is that this stall happened after I got a food scale and started using it nearly all the time, and cooking more at home. I'm pretty confident in my logging overall. I try to overestimate as much as possible when I'm out and can't use my scale, especially when the location doesn't have nutritional info available.
