Week 3 Suffering

Hi everyone
I really don’t know how this community thing works.
I’m gonna throw this out there see what I get . I’ve been doing T25 work outs for the past two weeks- I have to push myself to lose 40lbs- so I have to admit I’m over doing it on Saturday’s when I should be resting. I only rest Sundays. The thing is I don’t want to be diabetic or get high blood pressure. But my shins are sore everyday and I’m crying to get myself through these workouts. Eating what I eat to stay healthy I feel like I’m starving. I guess I just got used to eating unhealthy every day. But I haven’t had a coke in over two weeks and I used to have it 2-3x a day or with a whiskey neat, yes I feel energetic but I feel crabby too because I’m hungry. Idk how I’ll keep this up but hopefully I can lose some weight. Turns out my BMI puts me in obese range so I’m quite depressed l allowed myself to get to this point. Anyways- just venting to the cloud lol

Baby steps. You can’t lose all the weight in two weeks. You will burn yourself out. Baby steps.

Are you just venting, or do you have a problem you want solved? Feel free to disregard everything.

You shouldn't suffer or starve to lose weight and be healthy, not only because you can't do it for very long before you break, or because it's unhealthy if it takes longer before you break, but just because it sucks and it's not necessary.

To lose weight, you just have to eat less than you burn, but you have to do it for real, consisntently, and for a long time. Exercise can add to the calories burnt, but it's not essential for weightloss.

Moderate, regular exercise is good for you. Exercise you like, you continue.

No foods are in themselves healthy or unhealthy. A healthy diet is balanced and varied. You can eat what you like, but you can't eat anything in unlimited quantities.

Exercising to the point of ongoing pain can lead to injury that will prevent you from exercise altogether. Slow and steady, build up your poor muscles and endurance over time. Rest is important for your body. I injured myself a few times this summer due to not properly managing my workouts and ended up having to stop everything but walking (luckily only for short stints).

Please rethink what you’re doing. Under eating and trying to beat yourself into submission at the gym isn’t the way to long lasting change.

Your health may well be at risk, as was mine when I started. But there is no quick fix.

A plan you can’t live with long term is not a good plan. And please don’t try to make this about willpower or discipline. While helpful now and again, you’ll likely find willpower and discipline to be limited resources.

You don’t need to suffer to succeed at this. A calorie deficit, monitored with a food diary will work over time. People here wreck themselves over the time issue by the bus load. Don’t.

If you are truly physically suffering you're doing it wrong.

Eat your allotted calories, exercise for an hour 3-5 times per week. On exercise days give yourself a couple or three hundred more calories to eat.

If you are suffering, you'll quit. No one likes to suffer.

    Eat.
