Probably already said. Protein and fiber. They help loads. Don't go overboard on fiber to quickly like I did..... let's just say.... takes bowels a while to adjust. Gas might smell like death. Lol

I've definitely been trying to do more protein and less carbs. I know I've only been at this for a couple of weeks this time around - so here are the 15 day averages:

    Calories: 1,205
    Fiber: 19.4 grams
    Protein: 101.6 grams

I know the recommended amount of fiber for an adult my age is 21 grams/day, so I'm getting close to that. But I also need to figure out how to increase my vitamin D, which I'm apparently deficient in (one of the "interestign" items we discovered from my blood work). The concern is whether or not "too much" fiber might adversely affect vitamin D uptake for me, since I was already deficient even before starting this round of weight loss. On the advice of my doctor, I'm starting to take a daily multi-vitamin, with the hopes that will move me from "deficient" to at least "insufficient", which is apparently better than where I'm at.

What would be too much fiber, for a diet average in the 1,200 to 1,300 range? Same question for protein. ..

what helped my RA was weight lifting/resistance training. Im going to be 44 next month and losing weight for me didnt help. not saying it wont work for you but doing the above made a dramatic impact on my pain tolerance as well. I dont even need meds as of yet.

I found this helpful for Vitamin D

Edited: because I had a colon behind the D, which would have been appropriate, and it became and emoji that changed the post meaning (this - D:)

if you are deficient in vitamin D sunlight can help but you may need the dr to call in a weekly supplement to get levels up.I had to do that and now I take a 5000 IU vitamin d once a week or so and get some sun which has kept my levels where they need to be

You can't absorb vitamin D without enough fat. You need many other nutrients too, to be healthy, and when you're well nourished, you just feel it. 101 grams of protein at 1200 calories is 34%, and it's hard to make that into appealing and balanced meals and get the other nutrients you need.

60g fat, 70g protein, 95g carbs is 1200 calories. If you pick high quality foods, and different foods through the day and from day to day (to a degree it's still practical), I'll wager you'll feel better very soon. Your diet doesn't look horrible. Get in some vegs for every meal, reduce the snack foods a little, eat some fruit, get in more fat, and you'll get there.
