Staying calm to help others

Hi again. I've lost 11 lbs in 7 weeks. Starting at 261 I'm now 250 which is good. However, despite 10 good days with 0 over calorie days, walking 5 miles 3 times a week and doing everything recommended I've apparently lost ZERO weight. Now I know that's impossible as my calorific deficit over the past 10 days is 7800 so I know I've actually lost 2lbs but it's just not showing on the scales.

I haven't pooed in 2 days plus I drank a high sugar smoothie drink yesterday plus with this ridiculous heatwave currently here in London I know those factors are the reason.

So tomorrow I'm gonna get up again at 7 and walk my 5 miles before it gets too hot, eat my 1900 calories, drink my 2 litres of water and not worry the he'll about weighing myself until next week and hopefully see a drop then.

    @RoyBeck.
    Love your attitude. You know it is waterretention and food in transit, so no need to worry.

    That being the case, you may find it interesting to weigh daily anyway. It will give you a good indication of how long things move along and flush out for future reference.

    I love watching the scale move around after a warm/hot trip and long flight- usually once I hit normal, for me, temps it takes 3 days to flush out the liquids, 4-5 for the bowels to adjust.

    It is fun observing if you know it is bodily functions adjusting.

    Cheers, h.

    Yup, it'll happen. If the two days of no BM aren't normal for you, then you might take a look at your diary and see if there's something going on with your fiber intake or other changes that could cause that. Otherwise, it sounds like you've got a good plan :)

    Super LOVE the title, message and your attitude so much. Staying calm (about anything potentially stressful) is the stuff winners and champions are made of and don't come "natural" to most folk. Staying calm (under duress or frustation) is sooo under-rated BUT, for you to ADD staying calm to help others makes you (in my book) a TRUE super winner and 1st class all time champion. Thanks so much for posting this, you ROCK, period.

    I needed this today. I KNOW the whole "weight loss is not linear" deal is true. But I had five days of no loss and was getting grumpy about it. A timely reminder. Thanks!

    The first two lines were so silly I figured I'd suggest it was TOM even knowing it was ROY.

    That's the way! When the scale gets sticky but I know I'm doing things correctly, I know it's just a question of hanging in there.

    Give it time. It takes days and weeks for your body to adjust and to see the results of your efforts.

    Any change in behavior will register differently in a body - typically increased water retention. This is your body's defense mechanism against change and will resolve over time with proper hydration.

    Keep up the awesome work brother!
