Sometimes you have to look back to move forward.......

When I started logging on MFP in April 2017 I knew I had a long road ahead of me.

Looking back I've had stretches of easy sailing and times where it's felt like I've been on
this journey FOREVER!

LOL.... today was one of those days.

The thing is, although I've lost 115 lbs, I'm not quite at goal yet. >:)

And I've become so focused on where I want to be I'm letting it overwhelm me. :(

Forest.... meet trees. :/

So I thought I would sit down, look back and make a list of my "Victories" :)

Starting BMI - 49.4
Current BMI - 29.5

Starting BP - 156/93
Current BP - 123/71

Starting pant size - 24
Current pant size - 10

40% body weight lost

Things I used to do or wanted to do and can now do again:
- get in and out of my kayak
- golf.... 12.5 handicap
- wrap a bath towel around myself
- feel my husbands arms circle me when we dance
- take my grandson for a walk - well since he's only 4 months old... walk period
- buy clothes "off the rack", not in specialty stores

Seriously...... once I started, the list in my head went on and on.

And I'm not feeling so overwhelmed.

I've come to realize that for me, this journey will never end, even when I do reach my goal weight.

I will always need to be mindful of what I eat and remember that I can't out exercise bad habits.

So if you're feeling overwhelmed..... like you've been so good and you've worked so hard and you think its NEVER EVER GOING TO END - sit down, look back and make a list.....

    Oh, bravo and well said.

You have come so far, being able to sit and look back at all the progress you have made is wonderful.

Glide down to your goal with grace.

    Cheers, h.

If no one has told you lately you are an amazing powerful woman. Your journey is going to help so many others when they are struggling. I'm very blessed to have come across such a wonderful person. Much love and hugs to you..

I think we all get trapped in a bad habit of self criticism. I read so many posts of people who actually reach goal and are still unhappy because they are not toned or have flabby skin. The self loathing continues. It is a bad habit, and we cheat ourselves of our victory.

I love what you did.. losing 115 pounds is amazing. You are so much more healthy and light on your feet. Your body has shed a lot of weight.. sometimes it takes a break to adjust..but you will reach your goals. And you really already have. You are amazing and I bet you look great in those size 10's.
