Hello Everyone, I’m writing this to introduce myself and to also be honest and real with y’all!! In a world where you’re body shammed and insecurities are high, I just wanna be real and say I’m a food addict and I’m struggling with my weight. I’m asking for tips, ideas and accountability partners. I often deal with depression and also pain from not being able to commit totally to my life style change, again this is very hard even speaking like this I just hope there’s others who understand and also supports.

Welcome! If you want to be honest and real, think through what calling yourself a food addict does to you, not just your eating habits, but also your self esteem. And take a critical look at the lifestyle change you are trying to make, and see if it's not just another diet with a fancy name. And realise that you're only accountable to yourself. Feeling less insecure is hard work, and it start with you. Keeping it real means that you shift your focus and the way you talk about things, for instance, from struggling with weight, to having a tendency to eat too much. That removes guilt and shame, and puts you in control. Start with the user manual before you look for tips and tricks, and you can actually do something with the problem.

Welcome! The best tip I can give you is to make good use of the tool this place provides - that food diary. Log accurately and consistently, set realistic goals, and be patient with yourself.

If you haven't already, check out the Most Helpful Posts thread pinned to the top of each forum. There is a ton of information in there - lots to learn!

Take good care of yourself and best of luck :drinker:
