Favorite Candles?

Does anyone have any candle recommendations? (Yankee Candles make me cough.)

I used to like Party Lite candles, but they don't seem to be popular in my area. I'm looking for a good scent, and the more natural, the better. :)

I like those that burn at both ends.

I wonder if they use Roman candles in all the churches in Italy... Nah, that'd be crazy.

I buy a lot of "diamond candles" as gifts for people

Thank you! These look really nice. :)

Haha. Sorry, I have no useful input on candles, but still wanted to contribute. The only kind I know are Yankee. The Body Shop?

It's all in good fun

Can't really advise either. I buy the cute ones (like the marine-shaped ones from Zara Home) and never light'em up.

All okay! The witty responses are funny, but I was hoping for actual recommendations too. (I do realize the question is rather passe'.) :)

@SaraKim17 -- I may be the world's #1 candle lover (so people tell me!) -- my favorites are Yankee Candle and Bath and Body Works candles. You might want to go to candlefinder.com (I think that's the name of it), where a group of ladies rate candle scents/companies from time to time. If you're sensitive to certain brands or smells, you might google soy candles, all-natural candles, candles with essential oils, etc. Hope that helps!

My all-time favorite brand is Chesapeake Bay Candle Company. They used to make a scent called Saltwater Orchid which was incredible. Unfortunately, they stopped making it a handful of years ago but their other scents are still beautiful. I'd recommend Water Lily Pear. They burn for a long time, do not have that pungent odor that candles leave behind, and the jars are decorative and fit any decor.

If you like Partylite but don't want to order online, try Colonial Candle of Cape Cod. You can usually find them in gift shops or variety type stores. I think they are fairly similar. I'm picky about wax and scents (don't come near me with an apple scented candle from any company), so I stick with Partylite. The wax is perfect for the things I use it for.

Now I've been reminded of candles. I think I get really into them in the winter. Some that are just laying around my house right now are DW Home 'green tea leaves', Vesta 'midnight woods ' and Capri Blue 'Paris'.

I used to buy the cheap ones. But, have found that Yankee Candles have suited me best for scents, etc. I usually buy ones that are more neutral scented. Though, I do have some holiday ones such as pine, cinnamon apple, etc.

I don’t know if there’s a Weis market where you live, but they sell really nice scented candles. My favorite is summer breeze. They’re by a company called village candles. You might be able to find them online.

Honestly? I like the ones they sell at WalMart. To me, they have a great lasting scent and are obviously pretty cheap.

I also really love Bath & Body Works candles. I just love candles, period. lol
