As teachers are fully aware, the first day of school will be here asap! I've already been in my room several days prepping, setting up and getting ready. I would love to be friends with some other teachers who understand the busy days and stress (although much joy) involved with education. I often use food to cope with my emotions (shoving whatever I can in my mouth during recess), the teacher's lounge is often littered with sweet treats on a weekly basis, and gifts from students normally involve some type of chocolate. :). I would love teacher support and look forward to supporting you as well.

I teach 5th grade :).

Hi there! I’m also a teacher and would be happy to trade teacher or snack stories. I actually don’t have a classroom so my desk is in the teachers lounge where everyone brings their leftover cake, candy, and other carbloaded foods. I flip flop and sometimes I give in and eat the offerings. Other days I don’t eat anything at all! I don’t follow the Keto diet fully; however, I have created some delicious low carb recipes. That helps my cravings for bread and snacks. What I like is that they don’t require lots of ingredients and are simple to make. I wish you a happy new school year!
  • Hey! I'm a teacher too. I go back next Friday for freshmen academy. We start the following Monday.

I am a high school Geometry teacher. I return August 20, and the students return September 4. My challenge is my school's bell schedule. We are a 9-4 school. My lunch time is 1:30, and I teach straight through from 9:00 to 1:30 so I need snack ideas that I can eat in between classes while I stand at the door. I get to school by 7:45 so I am really hungry by 1:30. I pack my lunch each day and usually like to eat a salad with chicken or chicken with leftover vegetables, but I get tired of that by Fridays. I would appreciate any suggestions and tips y'all may have. I hope that everyone is savoring the last moments of summer vacation.
