Depends on the reason - why you feel weak, why someone would cut your calories. What's your height and weight? Are you very active? What's your diet like? Do you have any ailments?

What movie? With so much to lose you could easily eat a lot more and still lose weight. There's no reason to feel weak and miserable, mate <3 Just make sure you track all your food, and everything liquid with calories accurately.

Do you have the option to see a registered dietician? Nutritionists are not always properly certified (largely depends on where you live).

2000 does seem a bit low for your current stats, what does MFP suggest for the rate at which you want to lose?

If you're set on 2000 calories it might just take a bit of getting used to, finding less calorically dense foods and trying to fill up with volume as opposed to smaller amounts of higher calorie foods.

Honestly though if it's leaving you feeling weak and always hungry then it might be time to re-assess. This should be something that you can stick to long term, and you can't expect to feel like this all the time. Perhaps try upping them by a couple of hundred, seeing how you feel for a week, are you still losing weight? If so, keep upping them gradually until you find an amount that you're both happy with and losing consistently on.

Ok, I just made some assumptions. 335lbs, 170cm (the smaller the less energy your body needs), 50 yrs old (again, oder: a bit less). That gives me a base metabolic rate of 2662 calories per day for you. That's what your body would need at least if you were sleeping all day. So you're eating way below your BMR, and even more so if you're younger and/or taller. So consider if this really is the way to go for you. You could eat a lot more and still lose, provided you track properly.

What type of foods are you eating? I struggled with hypoglycemia which made me feel really weak and I was eating a lot of simple sugars and carbs. As soon as I increased my protein from 10 g a day to 60 g I felt much stronger and not so hungry all the time! I don't enjoy how protein tastes but it does make me feel better so I still eat it now... what is the majority of your diet consisting of?

@RogerBigham1- so eat a little more? I mean, obviously.

Give it some time and dial in your nutrition. Feeling dizzy? Are you trying to go low-carb? Dizziness can be from that, it's really common when people cut carbs - eat something salty like a pickle or some olives or a couple slices of deli-meat. Low carb often leads to an electrolyte imbalance, so if that's what you're trying, then going forward eat more salty stuff, drink water.

(*edit to say, I know he said "weak." Weak could be dizzy/low blood pressure, though.)

Since we don't know why s/he put you on that amount - I'd say go back and tell him/her.

    2000 is sufficient.

    It sucks in the beginning.
