I hate what I have become

Sadly this is not going to be a peppy, excited to be here message, sorry. I opened this app for the first time in 8 years and I am 22 pounds heavier than I was then when I joined to lose weight. Now I sit at my desk and I feel the fat from my stomach roll onto my thighs and I struggle to get a comfortable position so I don't feel so "big" if that exists. I am at an all time high in weight and I don't even recognize the person before me in the mirror. I am tired, ashamed and I cannot believe I let myself get this far. I feel like a drug addict that has hit rock bottom and is depressed and alone. I am here as a lifeline; I need help and I am cannot do it myself. Thanks for listening.

Jen, you'll be fine.
One day at a time. What are you going to do today? Replace your drinks with water? Cut one meals portion? Trade your fries for a side salad?
The little victories add up to big victories.

You can do it yourself... no one else can do it for you.
The past is the past, let it go. Focus on each day, log your food, but your goals, be consistent and you'll lose weight3 -

Imagine waking up 50 lbs heavier. That is what happened to me! All of us feel that way when we have a wake up call. But just being here and asking for help is the first positive step! Don't hate yourself - that will only depress you. Start taking some positive steps right now - more water, more portion control. Cut out fast food. One thing I found helpful is if you go to a restaurant, don't open the menu. Just order a salad with grilled chicken - every restaurant has one. And ask for the dressing on the side. Don't pour the dressing over it, but dip your fork into the dressing and then fork your salad - you will use much less. Desk jobs are notoriously bad for atrophy of your muscles. If you have the option, try to do several hours a day standing up and walking places, not emailing or calling. You are the only one that can do this for you. And you need to tell yourself you are worth it. Make an investment in yourself. And when you need support, ask for it.0

The journey starts here by putting down how you feel, the rest follows because you reached point that you now need to deal with it. Add friends and just try your best0
