How the heck do I cut fat? I'm trying to keep an eye on macros (just being mindful not strict). I am usually either just under or just over on protein, usually under a bit on Carbs, it is the dang fat that gets me. I am usually way over. Is being over on fat a big issue? I figured carbs would be my kicker.

What are your goals? Weight loss? Bulk? And what do you mean you're over? According to what?

Your body needs a good balance of protein, carbs and (good) fats.

How are you doing with sticking to your calorie goal? If you are trying to lose body fat, you need to eat fewer calories than you burn. If you're hitting your protein goal and staying within your calories, I wouldn't worry about going over whatever your fat gram goal is.

Being over fat shouldn't be a problem if you're within calories and good on protein. I wouldn't worry about that. If being over fat grams means being over your calories, then you need to consider what foods contribute heavily to your calories and try to modify/reduce/replace them.

I appreciate all the responses! Calories I generally do pretty well on, and still am losing not even a full month in and I've lost almost 8lbs. Just wanted to make sure that being over on fat wasn't going to be a big deal.

As far as being over on your fats and weight loss, may be okay - but it is not good for your heart. Make sure those fats are healthy ones from olive oil, canola oil or avocados and not saturated or transfats. It may not be a big deal in the short term, but in the long term you don't want to end up clogged arteries.
Congratulations on your progress on your weight loss.
