I started my weight loss journey in January. Ive lost 35 lbs so far!! I was so out of shape I couldnt even do 5 minutes on an eliptical without being ready to throw in the towel. But as time went on Ive been increasing my workouts and endurance. Now I can do 45 minutes on the eliptical easily, as well as cardio forever without getting tired. I started going to Zumba about 3 months ago and I HATED it at first. Not because I was as out of shape as before, but because I couldnt get the moves down and felt so inadequate when I'd leave class. Anyway, I made myself go 3 times a week, and eventually I learned the routines and even become comfortable enough to go to the FRONT!!! :-D

So the place I go to has started to have a class once a week at a facility right next to where I live. The first class was yesterday and though I normally dont go on Wednesdays I decided to go to show my support (because it would be awesome if they held more classes there...about 2 min. from my house!!) The instructor was one Ive had many times so I knew the routines like the back of my hand. I was the only one there who had ever taken a Zumba class. When she noticed that I knew all of the routines, she asked if I could come up front with her so that everyone on the other side of the class could have a better view of the moves. So yeah...there's ME, the girl who couldnt walk up a flight of stairs 6 months ago and less than zero confidence in myself to EVER be able to instruct others in a fast paced aerobics class!!!

I'm not one to give myself very much credit but I think I'll give myself a pat on the back for my accomplishment!! Especially now that I can reach it lol! ;-D

Hooray for you :drinker: I love love love Zumba and my reward for losing the next 20 lbs. will be to get certified for Basic 1 and co-teach with a friend hopefully. I go to the front of every new class I join because I just want to be able to see myself in the mirror and I am there to have fun and get a good workout even if I mess up  Great job again and keep dancing it!!!

Way to go! That's almost exactly my story! started my journey in january, lost 36 lbs so far (10 before joining MFP) and took up zumba earlier this year. didnt think i'd like it, but i LOVED it! A friend an i go to a class three days a week, and this past monday, we had to fill in for the substitute that couldn't make it, and our instructor is on maternity leave. so we co-taught a class together! We're actually going in a couple weeks to get certified - I LOVE IT! :)

You've got the moves. You've got the motion. You're starting to cause a commotion.

Sorry, 80s songs stuck in my head.

    A great story! Congrats!

Thanks everyone ;-)!!! Yeah Im the classic "if I can do it anyone can" story :-P. I just started losing my baby weight in January (my younges is almost 3 lol) and I kind of starting thinking I was too overweight and ageing by the minute and would never be able to get into shape again. But I DID!! Well...it's still a work in progress but I KNOW I'll make it instead of just hoping I would!
