Just dropping in to say hi. I'll be poking around the forums looking for ideas/motivation.
I've never been a calorie counter. I don't buy into diet trends. I habitually eat smaller portions already, and don't frequent fast food places (maybe once every couple weeks)...but I also know I don't eat the most "balanced" meals.
. Ice cream is my vice.
I've been getting out more this summer on day/evening hikes (2-3 times a week), and started to look for ways to track my "mileage". I stumbled across the MFP app inside the preloaded Apple Health app, and curiosity got the better of me. Maybe this will be a tool that will help me finally shed some excess poundage (5'-10", 235lb for the past 10 years or so). Or maybe I'll lose interest after a couple weeks as is par for course. I guess we will see. You never know until you try. Worst case, it'll be fun to screw around with for a few days and see just how bad my eating habits are.
Regardless of the outcome, I'm going to try to enjoy life a day at a time. Life's too short to walk around in chains.
Hope everyone has a great day. Cheers.
