Pregnancy and tracking calories

Did any of you track calories while pregnant? If so how much did you go by?

I did the first tri and wish I had continued. It will vary for everyone, but I did about 2000 (total, not plus exercise) during that time, and it was right for me.-1

I’m planning to (if I ever manage to get pregnant) and will do so following my dr/ midwifes recommendation about how many calories I need during each trimester.2

Your ob/gyn should be able to tell you how many extra calories you should eat in each trimester (and while breastfeeding if you choose to do so) and how much weight they would like to see you gain at each stage. It's not always a one-size-fits-all thing.3

I’m currently pregnant with #4. I’ve tracked through all my pregnancies. Talk with your health care team about your personal needs for weight gain during each trimester. Congrats!3

Congratulations yep I'm pregnant now and still tracking what I eat, I changed my goal to maintenance but eat usually around 200-300cal over that at the moment... sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less, and my weight is doing about right. Also it helped me notice I really needed to eat more protein. I did try not tracking for a week or so & found I just went a bit mad on the snacking, so it keeps me accountable to myself... whether or not I'll have the time/energy/be bothered to carry on logging my food once baby arrives is another matter lol2

If I could go back to 2009 and track while I was pregnant back then I would. I was so thin and healthy and got unexpectedly pregnant with #3 that year. I had been maintaining a weight loss for 5 years up until that point. I've yo-yo'd up and down the last 8 years. I'm at my highest ever. I hate that I ever got off track back then. So yes, definitely try to keep at it if you can.2
