Question about first weeks of weight loss

I’m 13 days back on MFP, back to weighing food and exercising consistently. I’ve lost 6 lbs, and most of that was during the first week and I understand that’s the expected drop from water weight. My target loss rate is 1 lb/ week but for now I’m not eating back all my exercise calories (I will feel free to in later weeks when I feel more hungry), so by my calculations my deficit since the start has been closer to 5000 cal/week.
My question is: should I not expect to lose more until my fat loss actually reaches 6 lbs (like when I’ve kept up this deficit for about 4 weeks)? Or do folks usually get to bank that first “whoosh” from water weight kinda like an initial signing bonus? I’m just trying to calibrate my expectations here.
Thanks!

Not everyone is the same. I had a high deficit and I kept losing. I lost 65 pounds without a true plateau; I never went 2 weeks without seeing a loss until I was very close to goal and only had a small deficit.0
