    To build muscle ---> Nutrition
    • Target weight: Protein
    • Calories overage by 1000 daily to start
    • Depending, some eat a total of 3,000 to 6,000 to 9,000 calories daily

    Workout ---> Consider MI40/MI40X

    That sounds like a great plan.... To get fat.

    OP - you'll likely benefit from keeping your surplus small to limit fat gains as you try to grow.

    Check out the stickied threads at the top of this section of the forum - lots of great information to set you on the right path.

    OP ... Assuming you're an adult, starting to get into football, the caloric targets are phenomenally higher than normative adults in a strength training surplus diet, for muscle gains. This is likely why, the quoted poster mentioned the "extremely high calories," ... You're a prospective footballer.

    Have you spoken to your coaches? They usually have ready meal plans for prospects? Weightlifting training programs (position specific) can be given pre-try outs.

    You might want to reach out to @Chieflrg. To my knowledge he is the ONLY former NFL player on the board. The other recommended individual would be @ninerbuff, a gentleman who trains many professional footballers.

    Good luck!

    Hey folks - we do have community guidelines. If you don't have anything nice to say, can't say whatever it is you're thinking without being insulting, OR if you don't have anything more to add to the OP, please check out the community guidelines and consider whether or not posting your unbridled thoughts might violate one of them prior to posting. If your post DOES violate guidelines and gets brought to moderator attention (i.e. reported), you'll likely earn yourself a warning... or at the very least, someone like me will wade into a thread and conduct a clean-up, as has happened in this thread. I don't like conducting clean-ups. I've only got about one in me per thread before I get angry. Trust me - you won't like me when I'm angry. :naughty:

    Please - play nice.
