Hi all, Any advice on a fitness tracker that tracks activity, not just steps. I work out hard doing HIIT. My fitbit tracks steps and you don't get a ton of steps with HIIT so I get frustrated.

They don't track steps. They track motion, and turn that motion into everything else (calories, steps, etc) into everything else based on formulas and calculations. Some also track HR and use that in their calculations as well.

That said, I wonder if I'm missing your point...

What do you want it to track? Fitbit does measure movement (unless it’s one of the much older clip models that truly just counts steps). HIIT is very strenuous (for very short periods of time) but doesn’t typically burn a lot of calories (and may or may not have any steps at all depending on what you’re doing).

I have found my Fitbit Ionic tracks everything. for example I load boxes at ups at night and it tracks it as a sport. Now you have options of tracking a couple of different activities such as interval training and weights as well as running, treadmill and others.

So far I have loved mine the only issue is I can never eat back as many calories as it says I burn to complete my diary on MFP!

HIIT for me means race pace hill repeats. I use a Garmin Fenix watch, it records a map, and my power output, like 650 watts up the hill. I break it into laps.
