False cravings

I'm craving ice cream... except I'm not.

My brain: Projects images of ice cream

Me: Mmmm... no. Not feeling it. Don't want it, don't need it.

Brain: But... but usually you would've reached for the first sugary, fatty, high carb items you could find!

Me: Now that I'm adjusting my eating habits I recognise that there's something else going on. I need hydration, maybe, or a light snack like fruit or carrot sticks when my tummy starts rumbling in a minute. I probably need a bit of glucose, what with the diabetes and all, but just a little bit.

Brain: No! You need sugar, fat and carbs in high concentrations and because of your past eating behaviours I'm sending you a command for ice cream!

Me: Ice cream?... nah. I'll have an apple or something. I already pre-logged an apple so--

Brain: Ice cream! Ice cream! IIIICE CREEEEAM!"

Me: Dude, whatever.

*reaches for an apple and drinks some water*

Brain: NOOOO! I SAID ICE CREAM! ICE CREAMICECREAMICE CR-- oh. OH. Actually... this apple's really nice. Yep. Yep. That hit the spot. Mm, crunchy! Okay! Go about your business, I'll see you at dinner.

Me: Drama queen. *smh*
