As mentioned, avocados in themselves will not make you gain unless it puts you into a calorie surplus. It is very calorie dense so make sure you are weighing it. Same thing with nuts, oils, nut butters etc. It's really up to you if you feel like it with be worth your calories and something that will satisfy you.

A medium avocado has 250 calories. Two slices of the Brownberry Healthy Multigrain bread I have in my freezer has 210 calories. If that's all you have for breakfast, it's 460 calories. If it fits in your calorie budget for the day, go for it. You're getting 18g of fiber, which is great, but you're only getting 14g of protein.
I monitor my fiber and protein at each meal, and if by lunchtime I haven't had enough of either, I'll take that into account during my eating for the rest of the day and up my intake o that nutrient.2 -
Y'all seem to have all this figured out. How's the weight loss coming along?
Just fine. I hit my goal in four months, and have maintained for nearly five years now. I eat plenty of avocados (not every week, because I like more variety, but when I buy them, I usually buy several, so once they start to ripen, I generally have half an avocado a day until they're gone).1
