Not very active setting question

So I select not very active (which is same or even less Cale than the old “sedentary” setting.
Since that is my selection I should record all activity and eat that back.
My problem is it’s giving me like 20 Cals credit for 10k steps when a large male (I’m currently 230) is probably burning more than that.
Should I just edit the cals on my steps or is there something I’m missing here?
Since that is my selection I should record all activity and eat that back.

i wouldnt eat back more than that, personally.
you dont get as much for working out as you think you should.
im much smaller than you, and female, but for 90 minutes of high intensity cardio, i only eat back MAYBE 100,unless for some random reason im ravenous (and it happens, but not often)0 -
For the sedentary setting you should get calorie credit for anything above 5k - perhaps you're set to lightly active? that would explain the small calorie burn allowance.0

Where are you seeing this new setting - not very active (which is same or even less Cale than the old “sedentary” setting? Mine still has Sedentary as the lowest.
I record specific activity such as Treadmill or Swimming, but I haven't yet become part of the "step counting" crowd. So if I burn a few hundred calories doing a particular activity one day, I definitely use it to increase my food allowance for that day. Conversely, if I eat a bit too many calories in one day, I may actually go and do an extra activity to earn the needed calories to cover it.

I believe the app lists Sedentary as Not Very Active now1
