How do I account for the calories in a buffet style lunch at my office?? It was at a restaurant but that restaurant doesn’t post nutritional info.

You eye ball it at the best of your abilities.
For exemple, let's say you order a club sandwich, you can take all the ingredients individually to log them:
3 slices of generic white bread
1 tbsp of mayonaise
1 average chicken breast
half of a tomatoe
1/2 c of lettuce
3 slices of bacon
...
Or find a similar item at another restaurant and log that food instead.
It will not be accurate but it's the closest you can get.6 -
If you're eating what I'll broadly call whole foods (e.g., plain green beans vs green bean casserole) find the info in the USDA nutrient database and then the matching entry in the MFP database. For non-whole foods (the green bean casserole in this example) look up similar foods at restaurants that put their nutrition info online. That will be as good an estimate as you can get.2

I try to find something similar in the database or just use my best guess based on experience, anything is better than nothing I think.1
