How long have you tried a smaller deficit? Do you binge at maintenance?

Do you cut calories too radically?

Try a smaller calorie deficit, like a 200 calorie deficit a day.

(Assuming you have set an appropriate calorie goal, and are eating a well-rounded diet.) Figure out why you give up. Are you resenting the extra work, or the restriction? If it's the extra work, be aware that it get easier with practice and when your lists are populated with foods you eat regularly. Are you using a food scale? That helps. Knowing how to verify food entires, helps. Using the recipe builder, helps. Also keep in mind that calorie counting is just a tool to help you eat less. Eating less is a form of restriction, even when you can eat whatever you want, as you can when calorie counting. Some people resent even the idea of restriction. But if you need to lose weight, you have to restrict your intake. Find a way, any way that works for you, to limit your food intake without feeling cheated.

You just may not want your goal/s badly enough 🤷🏻‍♂️
