Steps and exercise

I use my Apple Watch to count my steps. Every time I add exercise to my diary MFP gives a huge amount of negative steps (in the hundreds) no matter how many steps I had to begin with. Usually it’s 0 because I work out first thing in the morning. Why does it do this?!

I'm at 'sedentary', and MFP suddenly started doing this to me.
After my workout, it added my workout calories, but deducted about 500 calories for steps...
This is an MFP bug. The formula on the food log page didn't add up..
