How can this be right. It says on my fitness pal and on the Nandos website that 1 portion chicken things from Nandos provides 72grams of protein. Do you believe this is correct. Because 1 portion comes with 4 thighs that are not that big. Can anyone shed some light over this. Thanks.

The National Chicken Council says there is 26 g of protein in a 3.5 oz roasted skinless chicken thigh and 19.7 g protein raw.

72 g of protein is probably not an outrageous claim for 4 chicken thighs. If you weighed the meat you could figure it out more accurately.

Unfortunately, the "verified" green check marks are used for both user-created entries and system entries. To find system entries for whole foods, I get the syntax from the USDA database and plug that into MFP.

The thighs I get are usually around 100 grams, cooked, meat only. I use the entry "Chicken, broilers or fryers, thigh, meat only, cooked, roasted" and for 100 grams get 25 g of protein.

If I were to use the entry for "Chicken, broilers or fryers, thigh, meat only, cooked, roasted, 1 thigh, bone and skin removed" I see that these thighs are smaller, as it is less calories and only 13 g of protein.

That's why I have a food scale - no need to wonder what is a standard 1 thigh :)
