K so I’ve been trying this keto diet and really it’s working the problem is this my 3 rd week on it and all of a sudden my brain is starting to feel weird...can anyone tell if this normal?? For two days already it’s been feeling like it’s going to explode that’s the exact feeling and the more I think about the more it literally feels like it will...I’m not making a joke either sometimes I think I’m having way too much fat or idk if it’s cause too much caffeine mixed with this high fat diet...mind you I don’t drink coffee I get caffeine from just pure 100% caffeine supplements or if there’s caffeine in my prework out drinks another note I don’t exceed 500mg of caffeine in day...someone tell me what’s going on or maybe it has nothing to do with caffeine, help me out here. Thanks!!

I assume that's a headache you are talking about?
Are you getting plenty of salt and staying hydrated?1 -
Personally, if all of a sudden my brain felt like it was literally going to explode I would see a doctor.
If the amount of caffeine you are taking, regardless of where it's coming from, has changed the last couple of days, it could cause headaches.
I don't do keto, but as the previous poster said, you need to make sure you are getting enough salt and drinking enough water, otherwise you can feel like you are getting sick, so they call it keto flu.
I don't see how eating too much fat would affect your brain by causing pain or pressure. If you are concerned, get to Urgent Care or the ER and let them make sure there isn't something seriously wrong. Sudden, intense headache is not something to ignore.8 -
Yes, go see a doctor.

It sounds like caffeine. I felt like I was in a fog for my first week of keto--kind of like I took cold medicine. But what you're describing could be dehydration and caffeine.
FWIW, I have never had bullet proof coffee and successfully lost and maintained my weight loss on keto.1 -
See your doctor. See your doctor. See your doctor. Or even an urgent care center.
It's probably nothing serious . . .but it could be. Don't take chances.
Meantime, return to normal eating temporarily . . . whatever that is for you.
Sudden, severe headaches are a major danger sign. It's probably nothing. But a close friend had a sudden, severe headache at a young age, tolerated it for 3 days, and it turned out to be a major, permanently life-altering stroke. That's very unlikely. But don't mess around.
Let us know what happens, please - worried about you!4 -

Probably between your caffeine supplements and preworkout you are indeed getting too much caffeine.

Up to 400 milligrams (mg) of caffeine a day appears to be safe for most healthy adults.

Ask your doctor! That sounds scary.1

If you're not sure about going to the doctor see if your insurance or doctor's office has a nurse triage line. They'll be able to help you figure out if this is something serious based on your personal history that no one here is qualified to evaluate.0
