new scale weighs differently

My old scale was a dial type and very hard to read with my crappy vision. so, I bought a new on. It's digital and easy to read. But, of course it shows 4.4 pounds heavier. Not a problem, I figure everything is relative. The problem is that my GOALS here on MFP will be screwed up and it will appear that I have gained weight. What can I do to keep my records straight here? or should I just bite the bullet, appear to have had a 4.4 pound setback and keep going?

Wait until your weight on the scales matches your MFP record?6

I would just bite the bullet, log it, and move on.
Or, you could make a new beginning entry dated the day before your current first login and enter a beginning weight that is 4.4 lbs less than the one you originally entered.1 -
Just say oh well, bite the bullet, and keep on doing what you're doing. Scales have been known to lie, pants never lie, they know when you gain or lose weight.

I had the same problem. I just took the mfp hit and I've already lost 2/4lbs it added on. It's just extra motivation!1

I'd say adjust your goal because like you say, it's relative. If you don't adjust your goal, in the end you will have lost 4.4 lbs more than you intended.1

I had the same type of scale switch and it was a 9 lb difference. I had to go from the 200 lbs to the 100s twice! I just went back to my original weights and individually added 9 lbs to each weight.1

Just add it, I had the same issue when I changed the batteries in mine along my journey. I didn't gain 3 lbs of fat from one weigh in to the next. Don't let it get you down, log it and move on.1
