Slim fast powder worth it?

I been eyeballing the slim fast powder at Walmart because my wife works there and will get a discount soon.
To be specific the slimfast™ original shake mix powder French vinalla.
Does it actually help like everyone makes it out to be?

Losing fat is calories in and calories out, so I guess if you like the taste of it and it fits into your daily calorie goal then go for it.
I'm not sure what you mean by "does it help", like what do you want it to help you with?3 -
I've seen a lot of claims that it promotes weight loss and I think it just sounds like snake oil tbh and that's what I'm trying to figure out.0

If you find it satisfying enough to serve as a meal replacement and it helps you maintain a calorie deficit, it could be helpful. Other than that, there are no special fat burning or weight loss properties to it.
Personally, I don’t find shakes filling at all and it would just be a liquid source of extra calories, because I’d still eat just as much food. So I wouldn’t find them helpful in the least.1 -
Ah so it is snake oil then. Gotcha. I'm not buying it then. I'll still to Carnation for my extra nutrition needs. Ty for the info3

99.9% of weight loss “supplements” are snake oil. The only place you lose weight is in your wallet.3 -

Snake oil. So long as you're in a calorie deficit, you will lose weight. There are no magic foods/drinks that will make people lose weight. Just eat less, you don't have to change what you eat, just how much you eat. Knowing how much to eat to be in a calorie deficit is why a food scale is essential.1 -
It's not worth it. Used it on and off for years didn't satisfy me at all.
If you really must do shakes protein shakes are good especially if you're lifting weights regularly and just to increase your daily protein if you don't get enough. I'll probably get wooed but I've finally had success this year since incorporating them into my diet for the first time from January (along with regular food and mostly eating in a deficit of course). They help me hit my macros and recover without soreness after lifting sessions.
The protein keeps me fuller whereas slim fast contains so many carbs it tended to make me feel more hungry throughout the day and was just unsustainable long term.
Good luck in your journey!2
