Hi, I have a Fitbit and would like negative adjustments only after I have done 12,000 steps, is it possible to set this up in Myfitnesspal settings?
Cheers,

Negative adjustments only happen if you do less than your self-reported activity level. Positive adjustments happen when you exceed your activity level. Perhaps you should choose a more accurate representation of your activity level.

That will likely be about a setting on MFP for Very Active.

If the steps are long enough distance to be given a good calorie burn anyway.
You can have many grocery store shuffle steps and not a big calorie burn.
You can have fewer exercise level steps and get a big calorie burn.

Steps doesn't equal anything but a calculated distance at the time they are taken.
It's the distance that is given a calorie burn (distance and time is pace, pace and weight is good estimate).

So set MFP activity level to Very Active, and see what you get.

Caveat to this method to be aware of.

If you hit the couch/bed early in the evening and try to reach your given eating goal before that - on last sync from Fitbit you see MFP is going to estimate the remaining hours at Very Active burn rate - when obviously sitting/sleeping is BMR level rate.

So if that is 4-5 hrs at Very Active rate of 1.75 x BMR, but Fitbit will report the next morning on sync you were really at BMR rate - you will have a sizable correction.

If you hit eating goal night before - you'll discover you went over by good amount the next morning on review.

Fortunately it'll always be about the same amount of correction if the same time in evening - so just plan on it.
Be in the green by whatever amount it is.
